The whole day

One team on both cameras, from the tea at your parents' house to the last song.

A wedding day in Vietnam is longer and busier than most couples expect, and it has pieces that no shot list from home will have prepared you for. This is how we work it, what it costs, and what you get back.

The short answer

Photography and film by our team, from getting ready to the party, from USD 3,000. The founder photographing you himself for eight hours is USD 2,980. One crew covers both cameras. Photographs land in one week, the film follows.

The shape of a wedding day here

Most Vietnamese weddings are not one event. They are three, and they can run from before dawn to late at night.

The honest part: by the banquet you will be tired and the light will be difficult. That is the hour where a crew that knows the room earns its fee, and where we bring our own light rather than hope the venue's is kind.

Photo and film, one team

Photographers and cinematographers come from the same team and are briefed together the week before. Nobody blocks anybody, nobody asks you to repeat a moment for the other lens, and there is one plan for the day instead of two.

We record sound properly, which is the part couples notice later: a small microphone on the groom, one at the ceremony table, one at the speeches. So the film has your actual vows and your uncle's actual toast in it, not music laid over silent footage.

Getting married in Vietnam as a destination

Couples flying in usually ask the same question first: is Vietnam a sensible place to hold the wedding itself, rather than just to be photographed in. Our honest answer is yes, with two conditions.

The resorts are ready for you. Phu Quoc, Da Nang, Nha Trang and Ha Long all have properties that run international weddings every week, with event teams who speak English and have done this before. You are not the experiment.

Your guests are the hard part, not the venue. A wedding here is cheaper than almost anywhere your guests will compare it to, but they still have to fly, and the ones who come will stay a week. Plan for a smaller number than your list says, and for people arriving tired.

Things worth knowing before you choose a date or a province: the three regions run on opposite calendars, the central coast floods in October and November, and Lunar New Year closes the country for a week. If you are weighing provinces, our notes on the Nha Trang coast say which bays are actually quiet.

On the paperwork: most international couples hold the ceremony here and do the legal registration at home. We have set out why on its own page.

When one of you is not Vietnamese

A good share of the weddings we shoot are between a Vietnamese bride or groom and somebody who is not, and those days have a particular shape. The morning belongs to the family and the Vietnamese ceremony. The evening is closer to what the other side of the family expects, and often in another language.

Two things we have learned and will tell you early. First, explain the tea ceremony to your guests beforehand, in writing, because the people who understand what they are watching react to it and the people who do not stand at the back. Second, give us the names and faces that matter, on both sides. At a three hundred person banquet, knowing which grandmother to find is the difference between a complete album and a beautiful one with a hole in it.

What it costs

WhatIncludedPrice
Wedding day in VietnamPhoto and film by our team, from getting ready to the partyfrom $3,000
Signature, by the founderDo Xuan Cuong photographs you himself, 8 working hours, 2 to 3 locations, gowns and accessories included$2,980
OverseaOutside Vietnam, we fly to you, 8 working hours, flights and stay inside the fee$5,888

A deposit of USD 100 holds your date and locks your price. The rest is settled on the fitting day, in cash or by bank transfer. Nothing is charged until the plan is agreed in writing. If your wedding is outside Vietnam, the Oversea page explains how that one works.

Why the Signature line costs slightly less than the full wedding day: it is photography only, by one person, for eight hours. The from USD 3,000 line is a crew covering photo and film across a whole day, which is a different job and a different number of people.

How many photographs, and when

We do not sell a photograph count for a wedding day, and we would be suspicious of anyone who does. A day with a tea ceremony, a first look, a ceremony and a three hundred person banquet produces several times what a small morning produces, and the right number is however many of them are good.

What we do commit to is timing. Photographs are colour graded and delivered within one week. The film follows: five to ten minutes of edited footage with a shorter cut for social media, with your real sound in it.

Everything is delivered online, so it does not matter where you live when it is ready.

Short answers

How much does wedding day photography and film cost in Vietnam?

From USD 3,000 for photography and film by our team, covering the day from getting ready through to the party. If you would rather have the founder photograph you himself, that is USD 2,980 for eight working hours across two or three locations, with gowns and accessories included. A deposit of USD 100 holds your date and your price.

Do you do photo and film, or do we book two companies?

One team does both, and that is the point. Photographers and cinematographers are briefed together the week before and work to one plan on the day, so nobody blocks anybody and you are not asked to do the same moment twice for two different lenses.

How many photographs do we get?

For a full wedding day, expect several hundred edited photographs, delivered in one week. We do not sell a fixed number because a day with a tea ceremony, a first look, a ceremony and a banquet simply produces more than a small registry-office morning. What we promise is the whole day, not a quota.

Can you cover a wedding at a resort?

Yes, and a lot of our wedding days are at resorts in Phu Quoc, Da Nang, Nha Trang and Ha Long. Each property has its own rules about where a crew may set up and when, and we ask them those questions in advance rather than on the morning.

What if one of us is not Vietnamese?

Then the day usually has two halves, and we have shot a lot of them. A Vietnamese ceremony in the morning with the family, and something closer to what the other side expects in the evening. We will tell you honestly which traditions your guests will enjoy and which ones to explain beforehand.

Do you record sound?

Properly, yes. A small microphone on the groom, one at the ceremony table, one at the speeches. That is why the film has the actual vows and the actual toast in it, rather than music over silent footage.
